Urchin is a hot new venue and has become a real favourite of Dubliner’s who like to hang out at the ‘beach hut in the city’. This is a fresh, original venue that now imbues a laid-back seaside hangout. Cohn has created a subtle beach-chic décor evoking the feeling of being on vacation at the beach rather than the lower level of a listed Georgian building. The space is bright airy and uplifting, retaining the architectural detail while a façade of modernism overlays the bar/restaurant. Brightly coloured graphics give the space a fun-filled holiday vibe. Custom painted furniture predominately in white and blue give a nautical air while the multicoloured stools are reminiscent of beach cabanas.

“Consistent with its provocative approach, the CLIFF team and Garry Cohn, design consultant to CLIFF, have transformed this lower level into a light-filled space, with subtle marine references in the detailing of walls, furnishings and fabrics. Strong graphic patterns add great vibrancy. The kitchen area has been designed as an open space and the dynamics of food preparation and cooking are on full view…” The Taste.ie
